About the Masjid

The Current Situation

Kitchener Masjid is a Muslim Association of Canada (MAC) Project. By the grace of Allah (SWT), the Muslim community in the Kitchener/Waterloo area has grown extensively over the past several years. There are over 11,000 Muslims living in Kitchener/Waterloo. Unfortunately, Kitchener is an under-served area that does not have a Masjid of its own. It is now time for us to establish a facility to accommodate the growth of the Islamic community in Kitchener.

The Future

Alhamdulillah, we have found a wonderful location for the Kitchener Masjid. Insha Allah, the new address for the Kitchener Masjid will be 1017 Victoria Street North, Kitchener, Ontario. The property is centrally located and easily accessible from the highway. The property is 1.61 acres in size, with an ideal building that includes 29,900 square feet of space divided into three areas of varying height, which can be easily transformed into a prayer area, office area and a gym area. The closing date for this purchase was August 12, 2005. At this put a down payment of $500,000. Thereafter, we agreed to pay 5 annual payments of $227,000 starting from August 12, 2006. Alhamdulellah we paid already three payments. This is an interest free deal Alhamdulellah. Please help us meet our commitment to build the first Masjid in this area.
